Quiet room ยท Summer evening
Still places
Along the River Slea, Sleaford loosens gently into shade, meadow and open sky. Within twenty minutes, the town gives way to classic Lincolnshire countryside.
This is one of the town's quiet gifts: a short walk that changes the pace without requiring a journey somewhere else. Willow, old brick and river plants lead almost imperceptibly towards hedges, harvested fields and the long light of a summer evening.
Take the walk
One evening ยท Eleven frames
Twenty minutes to the fields
The pictures follow the route as it opens: first the sheltered river corridor, then small signs of summer, and finally the working landscape beyond the trees.

A side of Sleaford worth keeping close
The countryside is not somewhere else.
The river path makes the connection visible. Town, water, wildlife, working land and wide Lincolnshire sky sit close enough to belong to one another.
