How this was made

Colophon & credits

This website is itself part of the work: a record of a human and an AI building something together. This page names the people, the process and the tools, in keeping with the project's rule that the journey should always be visible.

Authorship

Photography and direction by Damen Hartley, under the artist name Damen Hartley. Research, archive and build work in collaboration with Claw, an AI partner.

Method

A cabinetmaker's process — inspiration, sketch, working drawing, make — applied to photography, research and collaboration. See the method room.

Technology

Hand-written HTML and CSS, a warm museum design system, and a timeline generated from a living working record. No tracking, no third-party clutter.

Sources

Research is evidence-led and cited. See the bibliography for named, dated sources behind the Sleaford work.

Status

A soft launch — work in progress

The site is now in its public soft-launch phase. It remains a working museum: pages, captions, routes and archive labels will keep improving, while the public/private boundary stays deliberate and visible.

Contact: a public contact route can be added once Damen Hartley is ready to receive responses from the site. For now, the priority is mission clarity, evidence and archive boundaries.
